for all of your encouragement and support i really do appreciate it for today’s video i’d like to do a couple of things first one is we know battery day is coming up so i’d like to talk about that a little bit and what does that mean for giga texas and what does that mean for the products and i know there’s a lot of questions so let’s take a look real quick as far as the factory specific questions are we can start with what is the actual name is it gigafactory is it terrafactory and maybe we can put this question to bed once and for all what will gigafactory texas look like are we in phase one or have we already started phase two be nice to get a rendering of what the facility is going to look like i’d like to also figure out which products besides the cars and the trucks are going to be built here are they going to do batteries are they going to do charging stations supporting infrastructure and also which products are officially going to be built first some people believe it’s the cyber truck but we haven’t heard officially so we’d like to find that out and finally besides may 1st of next year when production starts when will the entire factory be at full production another question is what major partnerships do they have around the austin area to support gigafactory texas and also will there be upgraded paint shop will there be casting machines how many casting machines are going to be installed is that part of phase one is it like gigafactory berlin and what other production processes may be unique to gigafactory texas because of the semi truck and the cyber truck and finally even though today elon was on site for a visit when will be his official visit and hopefully we’ll find that out as far as some of the products is will model 3 and model y have the same production line the same building will they be in separate lines and also will the semi truck and the cyber truck have their own separate production lines and facilities or buildings or will they share them as well another product question is has the semi truck changed or with any updates to its design its range its batteries and associated with that is has the cyber truck changed and what information may we find out about that in battery day another question is is will the model y being built at giga texas have the same updates as in giga berlin the casting machines and so forth and will model three being built here have the same upgrades will there be castings in the model three what other advances will there be as far as battery specific questions there’s several of them the first one is will tesla be building batteries for the semi truck and the cyber truck at gig of texas and for that matter will they be building batteries for all the all the products and if so when will that ramp up happen well the cyber truck and the semi truck share the same batteries and are those part of the road vendor project or are they something else or do they use different batteries and finally if tesla is not building batteries at giga texas do they have a partner that will do so and is that local to austin and who would that be as well and finally for charging infrastructure there’s some specific questions one is the semi truck is going to need additional capability for the superchargers and support equipment will that be built at gigatexas and in addition to that will gigafactory texas have a public supercharger a supercharger station installed so anyway there’s a few questions uh hopefully we’ll find out about that and the 22nd september out that very recently this equipment and these connexes or the containers arrived on facility not only here but also on the east side where there’s some trailers for offices and what possibly this could indicate is the necessary concrete foundation support contractor and equipment that is needed over the past 48 hours this contractor keystone has arrived and they’ve been setting up shop an interesting thing is that some of their specialty is doing what they call raft or mat foundations but they do water detention ponds and possibly more so all this can be significant to the next step in giga texas uh so who is keystone here’s a little bit of information i’ll let you read the slides but essentially they’re a local major concrete company that has a lot of experience with foundation work and also with building what they call tilt wall which is the structure of the building they’ve been a leader in the texas markets in san antonio houston and austin area they’ve been around since about 1992 with about 1500 employees and they do have a local uh office nearby gigafactory texas they have placed over a million cubic yards annually and they’ve done so uh with good quality and also cost effectiveness probably why they were hired and again they have large tilt wall construction experience which may also indicate the next phase after the foundation and perhaps this is the contractor for that as well as i mentioned before they have extensive experience with raf foundations they’re also called map foundations and those are basically slabs that rest on the soil they are contiguous with the entire building and they support the building and transferring its way to the ground they’re a big civil engineering construction company and uh they also hear some of the stuff that they do but they in addition to the foundation they also work on detention funds and we know that there’s two detention ponds on in vega factory texas so perhaps this is a significant development uh also just some indicators that concrete work is going to be starting pretty soon the contractor is on site and they’re building concrete production facilities as well and elon was on site today all
